Released on United Artists / Jet Records tan label, pressed in Blue Vinyl, it came in a plain white sleeve, or a plain black or a Jet Records company sleeve.

Livin' Thing was the first ELO coloured vinyl single to be issued.

​

Livin' Thing "Blue Vinyl" was issued in a plain white sleeve and the new Jet Records company sleeve. Some issues may also have come in the brown UA sleeves. 

​

The brown UA sleeves may have been discontinued in 1974, but an excellent 7" sleeve research site states they were still in use up to 1979, see
